Photo Walks and Field Trips

exciting program of opportunities for the coming year.

When: October 26th, Thursday

Where: We will meet in Boston at the Tony Demarco boxer statue on the corner of Hanover and Cross Streets.

Time: Tour starts promptly at 11:00 a.m. for two hours of walking throughout the neighborhood.

Cost: $50.00 per person, paid in full by October 4, 2017 (see below). Number of participants: 15 maximum (subsequent dates can be added) Meals: You will also receive a list of recommended restaurants for lunch.

We will spend two hours walking and photographing the streets of the North End of Boston, lead by a guide that will also provide a historical commentary.

If driving, you can park in the Government Center Parking Garage, 50 New Sudbury Street, tickets can be prepaid on line, go to <governmentcentergarage.com> for directions.

If you would like to take the ferry ($9.20 round trip for seniors, parking is less than $5.00) from Hingham, MA to Rowe’s Wharf on Cross Street, Boston. Details will be provided. From the docking pier, it is a ten-minute walk to Hanover Street. Ferries run frequently for your return trip. Directions and details will be provided.

#5 Full Moon Fever 
Night Photography in Provincetown with John Tunney

When: November 5th, Sunday

Where: Provincetown, details will follow with confirmation Time: 5:30pm for 2-3 hours.

Cost: $30.00 per person 

Number of Participants: 10 Maximum

Additional dates will be added if more than ten CCVF members are interested in participating. 

Meals: On your own

What to bring
Charged battery (extra batteries are recommended)  
Wide angle and telephoto lenses (the longer the better for the moon)
Sturdy tripod   
Flashlight

Learn to make images of the full moon, moonlit landscapes and more. We'll start the evening with a brief orientation session and then move to the beach to photograph the rising moon. We'll learn how to make properly exposed pictures of the full moon, plus we'll experiment with creative techniques such as long exposure effects and light painting. Next, we'll head to Race Point Beach and use the Life Saving Station as a foreground element as the moon rises higher in the sky. From there we'll move to the Bay side to photograph iconic cottages under the night sky.

John Tunney’s Biography  
A frequent exhibitor in art shows and festivals, John Tunney's award-winning work has been featured in a solo exhibition at the Griffin Museum of Photography, Winchester, MA, and in many solo and group shows in galleries and other exhibition centers. His book, The Four Seasons of Cape Cod, was published in January 2016. His work has been featured in Cape Cod Magazine, Cape Cod Life, The Cape Codder and other publications. John teaches classes and workshops, leads photo tours and offers private instruction. He is past president of Cape Cod Art Association, the CCAA Camera Club and is chairman of the Click Photography Conference. His website is www.jtunney.com.
