SEPTEMBER NEWS!
Welcome back to the beginning of the 2010 - 2011 club year. There will be three meetings this month as detailed below.
Don’t forget your dues of $40 which are due no later than September 29th. You may pay our Membership Director, Judith Gardner, at any meeting in September, or you may send a check made out to CCVFCC to Judith Gardner at P.O. Box 1986, Brewster, MA 02631.
SEPTEMBER 1st:
Our first meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 1st.
At 6:30 p.m. you are invited to participate in an evaluation of new lighting for our print box. Whether or not you participate in our print competitions, the Competition Committee, headed by Michael Karchmer, would appreciate your feedback on lighting options. You are encouraged to bring a couple of your prints if you wish to view them under the new lighting options, or just come and enter your preference.
At 7:00 p.m. our Business Meeting will begin. We'll go over plans for the year in terms of Programs, Teaching Workshops, Field Trips, Exhibits and Contests, Special Events, Competitions, and our involvement in NECCC and PSA activities. There will be time for questions and answers, and getting to know each other.
If there is time, we'll also view a slide show of all the prints and projected images entered into last May's Image of the Year competition, and/or another slide show of the accepted images from last year's Ocean State Exhibition that several of our members entered.
We encourage you to join us for this first meeting of the 2010 - 2011 year to help decide the print box lighting, to review plans for the year, to answer questions you may have, and to renew old friendships and to make new ones.
SEPTEMBER 15th:
At 6:30 p.m. we’ll have a brief Orientation Session to demonstrate how to prepare images for competition. Don’t miss this if you are new to competitions or are unsure of how to prepare and submit projected images and/or prints for competition.
At 7:15 p.m. Rick Cloran will present a program called “Making Competitive Nature Images”. Rick presented this program at the NECCC Conference this summer and many of us found it very informative.
SEPTEMBER 22nd:
Projected Image entries for our September 29th competition must be submitted to
capecodviewfinders@gmail.com
no later than midnight today! See page 5 of the Competition Rules for instructions. If confirmation of your submission has not been received by midnight on September 26th, send an email to
capecodviewfinders@gmail.com
alerting the Competition Team of the omission.
SEPTEMBER 29th:
This will be our first competition of the year. The categories for both prints and projected images will be Open, Nature, and Black & White.
Prints must be signed in by 6:45 p.m. See Page 6 of the Competition Rules for instructions.
The competition will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. The judge tonight will be Ken
Wiedemann.
